5.6x62 T* Victory NV Night Vision Scope from Carl Zeiss

WETZLAR/Germany, 16.02.2009.

With the Victory NV 5.6x62 T*, Carl Zeiss offers an easy-to-use, extremely powerful device that delivers the highest quality images. Combined with the right accessories, it masters all hunting observation tasks. Furthermore, the reticle on the Victory NV 5.6x62 T* enables range estimation at night, a key advantage in open and unfamiliar terrain.

Wide range of applications for hunters

A night vision device has become a constant companion for hunting in many areas. In general, moonless nights are the domain of residual light intensifiers, but they can also be of great use during a full moon: the bright image increases the range of uses of the night vision device enormously.

While hunting predators, primarily foxes, or when in a stand waiting for boars, night vision devices can help to identify the weakest link in a group. Even the best traditional binoculars are no match for state-of-the-art optoelectronics in this regard. Night vision devices are also indispensible tools even in non-hunting periods – for counting game, observing trophy bucks in deer hunting areas or for stopping poachers.

Reticle for range estimation

The Victory NV 5.6x62 T* features a reticle that can be used to estimate the range to game. The distance between two graduation marks is 0.5 m at 100 m: if a 75 kg boar (about 1 m long) seen from the side covers two segments, it is 100 m away.

The distance can also be estimated by the height of the animal’s body: if the height of a boar corresponds to a long mark, it is approx. 50 m away.

High-end technology

A very high-quality 2nd+ generation image amplifier tube with up to 20,000x light amplification, the latest electronics and a high-performance 2.0/125 T* lens from Carl Zeiss are guarantees for maximum performance: the 16.6 cm measuring bars of a standardized test panel can be recognized at a distance of 500 m when only 3 millilux of ambient light is available, in other words, a clear, moonless night. For example, a deer can be seen at a distance up to 150 meters.

Additional infrared illumination

Even with the best night vision devices, it is impossible to look in the shadows of trees. In this case, or in absolute darkness, the Victory 5.6x62 NV is still ready for use: the integrated infrared LED illumination enables you to brighten areas nearby. If long-distance observations are to be made under these conditions, a 1'' flashlight equipped with an infrared filter can be attached to the night vision device using an adapter.

Tip for use while stand hunting

If a night vision device is used while stand hunting at night, the hunter should always look through the device with their left eye: as a result of the bright image, the pupil of the left eye contracts, thus lowering the sensitivity of the eye. Once the ''right'' target is reliably determined, hunters grab their rifle and look through the riflescope with their right eye. The pupil of this eye is wider dilated after a longer stay in the woods, a must for a reliable shot with a low-light riflescope.

With LotuTec®

Impairments caused by raindrops, dust, streaks or fingerprints are a thing of the past thanks to LotuTec®. This innovative coating works like a protective shield for the lens – with an added bonus: as with a lotus flower, water drops with a very small surface adhere and create a sphere as a result of the surface tension. At a slight angle, the water drops simply bead off. Residues adhere less to the extremely smooth surface and can therefore be easily removed without annoying streaks. At the same time, the LotuTec® coating is very durable and resistant to abrasion. The light transmission of the lenses is not affected by the additional protective coating.
